I’m Ashley Daniels, a full-time freelance writer, editor, adjunct English professor, wife and mother of three sons. But no matter my job title, I'm always known to go above and beyond what’s asked. 

Proof of that is in my folio, which boasts more than 20 years of regional and national published work, including profiles on such South Carolina celebrities as Darius Rucker, Dustin Johnson, Vanna White, Nancy O'Dell, the late author Mickey Spillane and more. It's also laced with web copywriting, loads of blogs and fierce ad copywriting work that ranges from travel/tourism and hospitality campaigns to food and apparel retail, healthcare and telecommunications. 

Writing is something I’ve always wanted to do – probably ever since I could hold a pencil. I fell hard for writing. When I was a little girl, I’d write these happily-ever-after fairy tales on scrap paper and staple them together into a book. Today, my nonfiction topics aren't quite as fluffy, but the characters I meet and get to write about are surreal. 

A native of New Holland, Pa., I honed my writing skills at the University of Pittsburgh, where I received my bachelor’s degree in English writing. In 2015, I earned a Master of Arts in Writing at Coastal Carolina University.

Writing is not for the faint of heart. It’s grueling, needy, but, most of all, rewarding. And, along my journey, I managed to pick up two Best of Show awards and numerous Gold awards for my copywriting work at the Coastal Carolinas ADDYs.

I’m known for my fast turnarounds and quick wit in wordsmithing. To do so, I function best with a cup of coffee (or two) in the morning and a glass (or more) of cabernet at night. While writing is bliss for me, my happy place is also anywhere I'm spending time with my family, whether that’s in a pickup basketball game in the driveway, catching waves at the beach,  or just cuddling up on the couch watching a movie.
