Hi, I’m Ashley Daniels, a freelance writer armed with a portfolio packed with 15 years of regional and national published work that runs the gamut from magazine profile features to ad copywriting to food reviews to cultural arts reviews to press releases for Amazon to travel writing for “Fodor’s Travel Guide: The Carolinas & Georgia” and more.
Writing is something I’ve always wanted to do – probably ever since I could hold a pencil. I fell hard for writing. When I was a little girl, I’d write these happily-ever-after fairy tales on scrap paper and staple them together into a book.
A native of New Holland, Pa., I honed my writing skills at the University of Pittsburgh, where I received my bachelor’s degree in English writing. I most recently earned a Master of Arts in Writing at Coastal Carolina University, Conway, S.C., in May 2015 – all while juggling motherhood, family time and a full-time job.
Writing is not for the faint of heart. It’s grueling, needy, but, most of all, rewarding. And, along my journey, I managed to pick up two Best of Show awards and numerous Gold awards for my copywriting work at the Coastal Carolinas ADDYs.
I’m known for my fast turnarounds and quick wit in wordsmithing. But when I’m not in the office, I like to slow things down and relax with my husband and three sons on our boat, in our backyard or on the beach, which isn’t too far from our backyard.
